True/False Film Festival
In March we traveled (slightly) west to Columbia, MO to play at the True/False Film Festival – one of the wildest and most wonderful experiences I’ve ever had. It was four days full of films, music, celebration, meeting wonderfully talented people, and getting very little sleep. Apparently even James Franco showed up at some point. Anyway…I digress.
As one of the bands at the festival, we played a very fun (and very sweaty) music showcase at Mojo’s, along with Dark, Dark, Dark, Why Are We Building Such a Big Ship?, and Believers, and we were able to perform before the screenings of four extraordinary films: one “secret” screening, Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope, Gypsy Davy, and Detropia). You should check out all of those films if/when you get a chance. You should also add “Bully” to that list. We caught a showing of it that included a question/answer session with the filmmakers and film subjects; needless to say, it was heart-wrenching and the audience was one big puddle of tear-soaked mush by the end.
Basically, I loved every second of the festival. If you’ve never been, you should remedy that next year.
xoxo,
Cassie
